An Overview of Architectural Structural Deck:
A Functional Focal-Point for Modern Aesthetics
presented by
1 HSW/LU
This course will go into detail on long-spanning metal floors and roof decking. The deck profile has unique architectural aesthetics as well as acoustical that will be shown throughout the presentation. Lastly, this course will cover architectural screens.
Learning Objectives:
This course discusses locally sourced and recycled steel decking. You will learn how this material reduces material, but also creates a more comfortable space to be in.
This course will also discuss how architectural screens help reduce the solar heat load effect on your building. You will learn how code has changed to conceal mechanical equipment to prevent a visual eyesore and noise reduction. Long-spanning screens are often used as mechanical screens and parking garages screens since they can span far distances like the garage floor slab to floor slab.
Attendees will learn about several profiles of metal floor and roof deck designs to span varying lengths to reduce intermediate beam, trusses and other structural support.
Attendees will learn about wall and ceiling panels with NRC values varying from 0.85-1.0.
