New College Challenge Launch Week

  • 25 Oct 2022
  • 28 Oct 2022
  • New College of Florida, 5800 Bay Shore Rd, Sarasota, FL 34243

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, New College is now, more than ever, asking the question: “What can we do to become more resilient?”

Join us to seek answers during the first in a series of community conversations as we launch an important year-long initiative, The New College Challenge.

We are enlisting industry leaders and teams from major national research universities to help us create a more resilient campus and region on the Gulf Coast. When we planned the Challenge, we never expected to face Hurricane Ian’s cone of uncertainty, head on.

There is no better time to delve deeper into coastal resilience and the role higher education can play in creating a stronger future for our community and beyond.

I invite you to participate in the Challenge kick-off, meet our experts, and bring your questions and ideas as we reimagine together.

–Pat Okker, President, New College of Florida
