What causes some building enclosures to perform well, while others struggle with water related concerns?

The art and science of building envelopes have impacted Architecture since the earliest of times.

Please join us next Thursday, April 7, 2016 for a short presentation followed by a round table discussion regarding factors that affect the building enclosure…as we “lunch and launch” our new program: “Building Science + Enclosures”.

Our presenter and discussion manager is Mark F. Williams, FAIA. Mark’s early career (late 1960’s to mid 1980’s) centered around traditional practice…but then his professional life changed. For the past 30 years he has focused on the diagnosis and repair of errant enclosures, while studying and applying relevant building science principles.

The learning objectives will include exploring and answering the following questions:

  • What is Building Science?
  • Why is Building Science relevant?
  • Who are the Building Science stakeholders?
  • What direction might a Building Science + Enclosures Committee take? (a collaboration between AIA Florida Gulf Coast and Building Enclosure Council)
Lunch will be provided
Please RSVP by Tuesday, April 5
Space is limited.
